Jack Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Williams Funeral Directors - Garland on Mar. 6, 2026.
Jack Eugene Wilson was born on December 27, 1953 and passed to his heavenly home on March 3, 2026.

Jack was his own person, to say the least. Having been born with cerebral palsy, he faced many challenges throughout his life. Finding out that he was only being taught life skills, Jack's mom took hold of the situation, enrolling him in his regularly assigned neighborhood school, saw to it he had large print books, and set him on the road to graduation at South Garland High School in 1974. This was long before federally regulated special education classes.

Jack had many interests including coin collecting, music (a lot of Beatles), and snow skiing. Even though legally blind, Jack had fun skiing in Winter Park, Colorado for several years with a group specifically working with disabled people giving them a chance to experience activities they may have thought were beyond their reach.

Jack was predeceased by his parents, Joe A. and Evalyn Wilson and one sister, Margaret. He is survived by his brother Joe (wife Sally), sister, Paula, niece, Angela and husband Shane Risley, nephew, Joseph, three great nieces, Avery, Ashlyn and Natalia.

Private Graveside services are on Saturday, March 7th, 2PM at Grove Hill cemetery in Dallas, TX
