Jackie Lee Bailey, Sr., 82, of Cape Charles, Virginia, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025. Born in Nassawadox, VA, he was the son of the late William T. Bailey and Mildred Rayfield Bailey.
In 1984, Jackie married the love of his life, Sandra Tyndall Bailey, with whom he shared 41 wonderful years. A hardworking and devoted man, Jackie spent 48 years employed with Bayshore Concrete, and spent summers working at Twin Cedar Farm, where he was respected for his dedication and work ethic. However, his true passion was serving his community through the Cape Charles Rescue Service, where he proudly volunteered for over 40 years.
Jackie will be lovingly remembered by his children, Jackie Lee Bailey, Jr. (Dawn), Sheila Bowen (Jason), and Robert Eason Lambertson, Jr.; his cherished grandchildren, Cory Bowen, William Bailey, Amariah Nottingham, Sarah, Logan, and Cody Marshall; and many extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, William Bailey and Ronald P. Bailey, and his sister, Lillian Francis Breeding.
Known for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need, Jackie was truly one of a kind. He loved his family deeply and lived a life of service and compassion that touched countless hearts.
A memorial service to celebrate Jackie’s life will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Lower Northampton Baptist Church, with Pastor Jeff Conrow officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jackie’s memory to your local fire and rescue service or local animal rescue organization.
Jackie’s legacy of love, service, and community will live on in all who were blessed to know him.
