Jackie Elks Moore

Jackie Elks Moore, celebrated her 84th birthday in Heaven on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11am in Pinewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8pm at Smith Funeral Service.

Jackie, daughter of the late Jim and Thelma Elks, was a lifelong resident of the Eastern Pines community, and was a 1960 graduate of Grimesland High School. She was employed with Union Carbide and later with United Machine Works. She enjoyed being outside, working in the yard, and spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of Parkers Chapel FWB Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jimmy Moore; brother, Bobby Elks; and an infant sister, Jean Elks.

Jackie is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Smith (Jeff) of Greenville; grandsons, Justin Smith (Rhapsody) of Ayden and Jared Smith of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Kylah, Karsten, and Kendall Smith of Ayden; sister, Elizabeth "Boogie" Paramore Harrington of Washington; and special nephew, Bryan Moore (Sam) of Greenville.
