Jackie Parker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 2, 2022.
Jacquelyne Martinous Parker was born July 2, 1947 in Fort Smith, AR, to Carl John Martinous I and Dorothy Jean Martinous. She and her two older brothers Carl Martinous II and David Martinous all grew up in Fort Smith.
Jackie, grew up loving horses and was an experienced barrel racer and finished 4th in a national competition.
Jackie became a parent at an early age in life and worked full-time while raising her one and only son, Randy Parker. She put herself through nursing school while being a single mom and became an LPN and then a Registered Nurse (RN).
Jackie was a hard worker and disciplinarian parent; all the while being the best she could be as a mother, family member, coworker and friend to all. She loved her family and especially getting to see all her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews grow up.
Later in life she took care of her mother Dorothy, and they both sold their homes and moved into their home in 2005, where Jackie worked full time at AFMC, which was down the road from their lovely home in Fianna Hills. Mom would take her lunch breaks and run home to make lunch for her mother and take care of anything needed around the house and return back to work. And as if there wasn't enough time in the day, Jackie and her mother Dorothy joined the Fort Smith Corvette Club and enjoyed meeting other corvette owners and even drove with many corvette enthusiasts to Kentucky to visit the Corvette manufacturing plant. They lived there together until her mother Dorothy passed on August 22, 2014.
Jackie finally retired at 70 years of age and was enjoying her time in taking care of her yard, and raising her puppy "Baby" and was finally catching up with lifelong friends and going to lunches at new places. She enjoyed taking Baby for walks everyday either at the cemetery to visit her mother, father and brother or at the park.
She donated her time every Tuesday going to Adoration at St Boniface and really enjoyed being closer to God. She would always say her Rosary every night at 8:00 pm. She never left the house without having her Rosary on her and was always praying for all her family members.
Jackie is survived by her son Randy Parker and Trina Flowers of Little Rock, Her brother David Martinous and his wife Cynthia Martinous of Little Rock and their two children; son, David Shamel Martinous and his wife Missie Martinous. Daughter, Clara Martinous and Donovan Grandison of Little Rock. Her sister-in-law Sandra Martinous of Fort Smith, who was married to Carl Martinous II (deceased) and their two children; son, Carl Martinous III and his wife Amy Martinous of Bryant.
