Jacqueline "Jackie" Lee Wainwright, 82, passed away March 23, 2025 at the University Nursing Center in Upland.
She was born in Hartford City on October 12, 1942 to Delbert R. Strait and Wiladean G. (Cunningham) Strait. Her parents preceded her in death.
Jackie was a widow twice in her lifetime, having married Robert D. Cox and later in life having married Alvin L. Bannister. She married her third husband, Jack Wainwright on February 22, 1997 in Hartford City.
Jackie held many different jobs over the years, she was a beautician, a CNA and worked at Taylor University in the kitchen.
Jackie enjoyed doing crafts, with crochet and ceramics being her favorites.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Jack Wainwright; her children, Gregory D. (wife, Annabel) Cox of Greenwood, Kelly L. (Cox) Neuville (companion, Andy Puckett) of Linden, MI and Bradley A. (wife, Shannon) Bannister of Hartford City, 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, a brother Dennis R. (wife, Chris) Strait of Hartford City and a sister Debra D. Barnes of Hartford City; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Bruce Leon Strait, Larry D. Strait, Charlotte M. Bell and Sandra S. Mills.
Jackie will be cremated and a graveside service will be at 2 pm Friday, April 11, 2025 at Hartford City Cemetery with Pastor Troy Kaufman officiating.
Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City is in charge of arrangements.
