Jacklyn Lou Rogowski

1938 - 2026

Jacklyn Lou Rogowski passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Jackie lived a wonderful life. She was a devoted wife and mother, a generous and giving person, and loving Nana to all of her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was a steadfast volunteer and advocate for those with disabilities. Most importantly, Jackie loved her family and all of the holidays, meals, events, and time spent with them.

Jackie was born in Utica to Marie (Wurz) and Horatio Long on September 30,1938 and lived there until moving to New York Mills. She graduated from New York Mills High School, in her own words "at the top of her class." Shortly after finishing high school, Jackie married the love of her life, Richard Rogowski, started their family and raised their boys. In time, Jackie began working at Friendly's in Whitesboro where she was employed for 25 years.

Jackie enjoyed many hobbies and activities with her friends over the years: crafting, shopping, lunch dates and visits with lots of laughs. Jackie also volunteered for many years with the Stanley Theater and The ARC, which continues to hold a special place in her heart. A life-long communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic church, Jackie would attend mass daily. She found great strength in her faith and offered many prayers for others over the years. Her most joyful times were spent at the family camp on 4th Lake, as those were the times when family and friends would gather most weekends and summer holidays.

Jackie is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Richard. She is survived by her sons Jim (Debby), Tom (Laurie), and Bill (Betsy). Jackie is also survived by her niece Diane (Cathy) Waldron with whom she has always had a close and special relationship. Also surviving their Nana are grandchildren Kate (Mike), Kyle (Alexandra), Kara (Dylan), Matt (Catrina), Bryan (Amanda), Allison (Will), and Eric. Additionally, Jackie is survived by great-grandchildren Charlotte, Eliza, Maxwell, Lilly, D'Angelo, Myles, Campbell, Mackenzie, and Savannah. All will miss their cherished Nana forever. Jackie also leaves nephews Daniel and David Waldron. Additionally, Jackie leaves behind her very special, life-long friend Barbara Jasinski as well as special niece Ann (John) Harper.

Jackie was sadly and recently predeceased by her beloved son, Ronald (Rugsy) Rogowski. Jackie was also predeceased by her dear sister and best friend in life, Eileen (Al) Waldron, brother Robert Long, and infant son, Robert.

Per the family's wishes, there will be no public calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jackie's Mass of Christian burial which will be celebrated on Wednesday January 21, 2026, beginning at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart and St. Mary Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 201 Main St, NY Mills, NY 13417. The family will be receiving visitors in church at the conclusion of Jackie's Funeral Mass. Burial will take place at St. Stanislaus and Casimir Cemetery in Whitestown in the spring.

The family extends their deepest appreciation to all who have called, visited, prayed, cared for and shown love to Jackie and her family during this difficult time, including Henderson Home Care (especially Mallory, Nancy, Hazel, Kelly, Kim) and Hospice and Palliative Care of New Hartford.
