Jackson Carneiro Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home on Mar. 11, 2024.
Heaven gained an angel, Jackson Paul Carneiro, on March 7, 2024. Jackson was born and raised in Milford, MA by his loving parents John and Gina (Gonçalves) Carneiro of Milford. He was the beloved brother of Olivia Carneiro of Baltimore, Maryland.
Jackson attended Catholic schools from Pre-K through 12th grade. He attended Milford Catholic Elementary School, in Milford through second grade and Saint Bernadette Elementary School, in Northborough through eighth grade, where he met the best friends he could ever ask for. He attended Saint John's High School, in Shrewsbury, where he was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated in 2022.
Since the 3rd grade, Jackson had his mind set that he wanted to be an Animator when he grew up. He used the arts to bring people together across generations and backgrounds, impressing his peers and teachers. For his creative achievements, he received the Robert Brady Award for Excellence in Fine Arts at Saint John's.
He attended the University of Connecticut, with a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, where he was studying 3D Animation in the Digital Media & Design Department.
To know him was to laugh. Jackson had the ability to light up a room with his quick wit and beautiful smile. He loved writing and producing music, watching the Sopranos, and spending time with loved ones. He enjoyed going to Cape Cod every summer with friends and family. He loved his time spent traveling with his family to Portugal, Spain, and England and cherished traveling to Florida to visit his family.
Jackson was so well-rounded and loved trying new things. He was a first-degree black belt in karate, played the violin, rowed on the crew team at Saint John's his freshman year, and participated in Art Club at Saint John's.
Jackson was the joy of his family. His compassion for others deeply imprinted on his family, friends, and anyone who knew him.
Along with his parents and sister, Jackson is survived by his grandparents, Helena and Caciano Pires of Milford, grandparents Ana and João G. Gonçalves of Milford, Godfather/Uncle John (João) Gonçalves of Milford, Godmother/Auntie Heather and Uncle Frank Carneiro, Uncle Paulo and Auntie Helena Gonçalves of Uxbridge, Uncle Nelson and Auntie Carly Gonçalves of Orlando, FL, Uncle Steve and Auntie Christina Pires of Holden, cousins Dan MacMillan, Adam Goncalves, Madison Carneiro, Jude Goncalves, Griffin Carneiro, Devan Pires, Logan Pires, Cruz Gonçalves, Rex Gonçalves, a large extended family, many friends, and his loving dog Ruby.
He is pre-deceased by his grandfather Francisco Carneiro and his beloved dog, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, March 13 at 11 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 27 Pearl St. Milford, MA. The burial will follow at the St. Mary's Cemetery on Cedar St.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of one's choice in his honor, especially to any organization that supports young people to pursue their passions.

Gina and family,

I was just thinking about you the other day and laughed at the memories (over 15 years ago!). I googled your name and came across Jackson´s obit. I am devastated to learn of his passing and wanted to send my deepest sympathy to you and your family. I remember when we worked together at Learning Express you would always show me funny videos of Jackson as a little boy. I hope that you all are able to find some comfort during this difficult time. Sending big, BIG hugs.

A favorite memory I had of Jackson was any time I would walk into class and I would always see something new in his drawings. Everyday he amazed me with his art and he was always so kind to me

I am a student who currently attends the storrs campus and wanted to express my absolute deepest condolences and love for this devastating loss. One of UCONN´s brightest stars and unwavering talent I have ever heard of. I´ve been reading about Jackson and he just seemed like the absolute biggest light of a human being to shine through UCONN. What an incredible mind who possessed such a unique and beautiful talent. His creativity beams through in all of his artistic talent and ravishing dedication I´ve learned through reading about him. His passion for what he loved is so incredibly infectious and inspiring, even though I did not know him personally. He will be sincerely missed by an overwhelming amount of people for an eternity. I hope you can all find the comfort and peace in knowing he is finally there as well. What a beautiful soul whose legacy will be carried out forever through his dedication and astounding work. I hope one day the comfort and warmth Jackson´s work, artistic ability, and seemingly infectious smile and personality brought people will help you all find the peace you and Jackson truly deserve. My heart is with you and your entire family and friends, and I will never forget that. Rest in sweet, sweet eternal peace to a lovely soul who touched so, so many hearts, even of those who did not have the privilege of knowing him. I hope one day I can live up to even half of what Jackson´s love and work had the impact on of SO many.

Jackson was a lovable student at St. Bernadette. He was always polite, respectful, and well-behaved, yet he had a wonderful warmth and sense of humor. He possessed many talents, but his drawing ability and creativity were his passions. He loved when a literature or social studies project offered an opportunity to express these talents, and his projects were impressive. Please accept my sincere sympathy at this unfathomable loss.

I am simply a Storrs/Mansfield resident, a UConn alum and widowed mom of a current UConn student. My sons were Catholic-schooled-educated as well, my oldest received a degree in the same field/major as your son. We also have Portuguese roots.

As a resident of Storrs and having worked at a different state university for a number of years, I know how precious young students are, how challenging life is during that era of huge change.

Please know your son and family are in my prayers and that you have other people you don't know and from out of state praying as well.

My first memory of Jackson was the Summer School Program for Saint John´s, where him and I met for the first time. I remember even in the classroom he was able to brighten everyone´s day and I immediately wanted to become friends with him.

Unfortunately I was not blessed to have met Jackson. He looks like he was one amazing young man. My daughter did not know him, but as a first year Husky with the same major, she knew Jackson´s work and she told me he was very talented. I am so sorry for your loss. May you all find comfort in your faith and smile when you remember him. May the memories bring you some peace.

I met Jackson in 2nd grade at St. Bernadette's. The only guy who was interested in the same games, same movies, and same everything as me. We were very close friends growing up in Catholic school, with a passion for retro video games that not many other people shared. I'll always remember Jackson as being one of my first genuine friends, someone that I could truly be myself around. He was one of the funniest people I ever met, and although we grew apart as we got older and attended different high schools, I will always cherish the memories I had with him

I first met Jackson as an incoming freshman to St.Johns. He was the first friend I made going into high school. We were 2 out of 3 people doing work study that went and did outdoor work all week. All three of us drove around on the mule, the work tractor, bringing all kinds of supplies to varies places around campus to spread some mulch. That is my first and one of my favorite memories at St. Johns to this day. We also rowed together at St. John´s. Jackson was a great kid and fun to be around.

Meeting Jackson in middle school and being as close of friends as we were is something I forever cherish in my heart. Whenever I think back of being at Saint Bernadette´s all I can think of is Jackson and I goofing off in a class, playing very competitive 4-square games at recess, or watching him draw something and me sitting there doing my best to attempt replicate it. I´m so grateful for the countless memories we made together because those were truly some of the happiest times of my life.

Being on the crew team with him as well as sitting next to him in algebra. He was a bright and genuine kid always willing to help if I had a question. I was always impressed when I saw him drawing in his notebook during class.

Heaven certainly did gain an angel! Jackson was an amazing young man. I was always so impressed by his drive and motivation. He knew he wanted to be an animator and took steps from his first day at St. John's to make that happen. I am so sorry your family is struggling with the loss of Jackson. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Brenda Hayden
