Jackson Lani

Graveside services for Jackson Lani, age 59, of Enid, will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Enid Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Jackson was born September 27, 1964, in Majuro, Marshall Islands, to Ishitaro and Sweet Lani, and passed away March 27, 2024 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Majuro High School in 1982. From there, he moved to Texas in 1988-89. Jackson had multiple jobs as a truck driver, mechanic, and a roofer. He met the one who would become his wife, Etina Lani, in the early 90's. They moved to Enid in the late 90's and started their family, having two children, Charles Lani and Jasey Lani. Enid has been their permanent home for the past 24 years. During those years, Jackson worked for the Enid News and Eagle for 13 years; then began a new career with Briteway Community Living, where he attended the disabled and elderly. A quote from Jackson to his sons.. "Marshallese Version"; "Ilo ien buromij koman bwe en menono, ilo ien mojino koman bwe en ien kajoor. Ne jinomiro ej ellu koman kijak bwe en ettuñ." English version; "In times of sadness be happy, in times of weakness be strong. If you mother is mad, make a joke and make her laugh."
Funeral services will be overseen by Rev.Aiseia Aiseia of Marshallese New Beginning Church, 1724 W Broadway Ave.
