Jacky Hilaire

Jacky Hilaire, 55, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on May 4, 2025. He was born on June 8, 1969, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, to the late Lerome Antoine and Clerencia Hilaire. Jacky worked for Beaver Street Fisheries and was a faithful member of Uplift Church.
In his early years in Haiti, Jacky was known for being a hard-working and multi-talented craftsman. He painted homes, installed windows, and did all types of iron and metal work-including welding, gate construction, and sheet metal projects. In a country with few job opportunities, Jacky never let pride stop him from doing honest work to support his family. No job was beneath him if it meant his loved ones had what they needed. He took pride in providing, and he did it with quiet strength and dignity.
Jacky enjoyed listening to podcasts on politics and gospel music. He was good with his hands and always willing to fix things for others. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a supportive brother, and a loyal friend. Jacky was an excellent provider and protector, always putting the needs of his family first. He cherished every moment spent with them and built a life centered around love, faith, and commitment.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jacky is survived by his best friend and wife, Louse Cajuste Hilaire; his children, Caina H. Martinez, Mikeila H. Mesilas, and Jim Kevington Hilaire; his sister, Gracieuse Colin; and his brothers, Yonel Colin, Ebelson Colin, Wilson Colin, and Jean-Bernard Colin. He also leaves behind a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am, Friday, May 23, 2025 at St. Giles Presbyterian Church with Pastor Kedesh Jerome officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time.
