Jaclyn "Jackie" Skaggs, age 36, of Shepherdsville, retired to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, January 5, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 7, 1988, to Peggy (Heilman) Jones and Michael Wayne Skaggs. Jackie was a former Lab Corp employee; she was a graduate of Holy Cross High School where she excelled in sports like basketball, softball, and soccer. She was named most Athletic in her senior year, people called her a spitfire, she was a natural born athlete. She enjoyed cornhole, shooting pool, hanging out with her friends, she was a die-hard University of Kentucky fan, could tell you anything you wanted to know about sports teams and their players. Jackie also loved her fur babies Peanut and Jeter. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents Theodore and Hazel Heilman, Jack and Pat Skaggs, Aunt Laquinta Strickland and her niece Kyra Skaggs.
She is survived by her parents Peggy Skaggs Jones (Jim), Michael Skaggs (Hallie), sister Misty Schneider (Kevin), brother Donnie Skaggs, (Ryan-Ann), stepsister Adona Schank (Steve), nieces and nephews Austin Skaggs, Jordan Skaggs, Tyson Skaggs, Savannah Schneider, Haylee Mateo (Bryan), Hallie Schank, Delanie Schank, along with aunts, uncles, and other dear family and friends.
A Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Hwy, at John Harper Freeway). With burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 12noon a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
