Jaclyn Smith Obituary

Smith, Jaclyn J.
EAST GREENBUSH - Jaclyn J. Smith known to many as "Jackie" and/or Aunt "Ka" passed away at her home suddenly on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.
She was born in October 1984. Jackie was a graduate of Columbia High School in 2002. Jaclyn worked with disabled adults and took great pride while doing so.
Jaclyn was recently predeceased by her mother, Mary Ellen Smith. She was also predeceased by her beloved aunt, Kathy Klimek; her uncle, Bob Smith; and her aunts, Pat Robinson, and Nancy Catalano. Jaclyn is survived by her world, her dad, Michael Smith; her sister, Summer (Dominick) Robinson; her nephews, Jeremiya Patterson and Gianni Figliomeni; her aunt, Margaret Smith; her uncles, Bob (Mary) Robinson, Michael (Laura) Robinson, and George Catalano, as well as numerous cousins. Jackie adored her four pets and will be missed by them. She held near and dear to her heart many friendships and had an exceptionally close friendship with Kenneth Hausler.
Jaclyn had an extremely great sense of humor. She had a way of taking center stage and keeping a captive audience full of belly laughs. She had an excellent memory and could recall anything she saw, heard, or read. She had a love of the arts and networking which led to her to being invited by designer Shawn McQuade to the opening of Club 57 in New York City at MOMA where she wore a specially designed dress. Jackie was a beautiful writer and had a passion for books from an early age.
Jaclyn had a wonderful bond with her father and spent a lot of time watching basketball with him, and they shared a love for the Boston Celtics. She was daddy's little girl.
Jaclyn was a very compassionate, loyal, caring friend and always willing to lend a helping hand, or ear, even if she didn't have it to give. She took pride in advocating for people who could not advocate for themselves. Jaclyn was a very forgiving person, much like her mom, her door was always open, and no problem was too big for her to take on.
The Catholic funeral Mass for Jaclyn as well as for her mother Mary Ellen Smith will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 31, at 11 a.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 391 Delaware Ave., Albany.

Michael,
I was so sad to hear about the loss of your daughter Jackie. I remember her as having such a wonderful personality. She had such a beautiful smile and enjoyed talking to everyone. Remembering the good times you both shared will help get you through this difficult time. My condolences for Mary Ellen as well.

Wonderful young lady who lived across the street from me at her younger years. After thirty years not seeing her she remembered me like it was yesterday. Why do bad things happen to good people. Rest in Peace my friend. So glad we got to see each other.
