Sgt. Jacob Edward Bowlin, Retired US Army, of Cleveland, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 25, 2024 in Murfreesboro, TN. Jacob was born in Clearlake, CA, to George and Melissa Sackrison. Jacob was preceded in death by his father, George Sackrison; his grandparents Edward Coleman Dunnavant and Mary Lou Dunnavant; and his uncle Mark Dunnavant. He is survived by his wife, Samantha; his children Dagan Michael Grieco, Alexis Loren Bell and Jacob Tyler Bowlin; granddaughter Elise Marcella Grieco; his mother and step-father Melissa and Thomas Hughes; step-grandmother Anita Dunnavant; his uncles Terry (Marcy) Dunnavant and Jeff (Anita) Dunnavant; and his nieces and nephews. Jacob loved tinkering with cars, hanging out with his friends, loved the outdoors and animals, a jack of all trades, and a big practical joker. Jacob was an honorably discharged member of the 278th Armored Calvary and served in Operation Enduring Freedom in 2009. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the Mack Shelton Parlor of Companion Funeral Home, 2412 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN from 10am to 12pm. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1:30pm, with military funeral honors being accorded. Pastor Daniel White will officiate; and serving as pallbearers will be Drew Boyland, Brad Parker, Justin Williams, Billy Myers, Jeremy Bankston and Thomas Hughes. Honorary pallbearers are Tabby Higgins and Lisa Morrman. The family would like to offer special thanks to Daniel Marlow, Ed Hamilton, Jeremy Bankston, Pastor Guinn Green, Kim Licata, and the staff of Companion Funeral Home for their assistance.
