Jacob T Chacko

Jacob Thachedathu Chacko, affectionately known to many as "Babykutty," was born and raised in Thiruvalla (Kavumbhagom), Kerala, India, to C.J. Chacko and Elizabeth Chacko, the second-youngest of nine children. After spending his early years in Kerala and other parts of India, Jacob immigrated to the United States in 1980 to begin a new chapter of life with his beloved wife, Annamma Jacob ("Kunjunjamma"). Settling in Houston, Texas, he worked at Southwest Oilfield Products as a skilled programmer. There, he not only excelled professionally, but also served as a mentor to others. His life of hard work and dedication served as an example for his children. Jacob was not only committed to his profession but also to his community and faith. A devoted member of St. Thomas Orthodox Cathedral in Houston, he played an integral role in the life of the church, offering his time, talents, and heart. His artistic gifts can still be seen in the beautiful paintings he made for the church, a demonstration of his love for the Orthodox faith. Over the decades, he was deeply involved in various church initiatives and projects, always striving to make the Church better for the generations to come. He also actively contributed to the Malayalee community in Houston and across the nation. Whether through his creative talents, organizational support, or simply his joyful presence, Jacob brought people together. He had a deep love for the arts-he was a gifted soccer player in his youth, a natural performer, and a singer who could fill a room with energy. Known for his quick wit, magic tricks, and jokes, he had a remarkable ability to lift spirits, even during difficult times. He also had a passion for fishing, a love he shared with his son, Justin. Above all, Jacob was a devoted husband, a proud and loving father to Jobby and Justin, and a joyful grandfather to Micah and Elissa-roles that brought him the greatest happiness in life. He is also survived by his cherished daughters-in-law, Suja and Nimitha. Babykutty lived a life marked by generosity, humility, and a quiet strength. He gave freely of himself, always ready to help others without ever expecting anything in return. Though we feel the weight of his absence, we celebrate the fullness of his life-a life that touched so many. Jacob's memory will live on through the love he shared, the values he upheld, and the lives he shaped. We take comfort in the hope that we will one day be reunited with him in the heavenly kingdom.
