Jacob Goempel Obituary

Jacob G. "Jake" Goempel, 85, of Washington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. Born on August 3, 1940, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Jacob and Vernell Goempel. Jake was the loving husband of 54 years to Charlene Caumo Goempel, beloved father to Melinda (George "Jody") Bello and Russell Goempel and Papa Jake to Jessica Goempel. He is also survived by five siblings, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by several siblings. A quiet, hardworking man, Jake found joy in the simple things, especially in caring for his land. He took great pride in maintaining his property and caring for his family. With his vast knowledge of construction, electrical, plumbing, etc..., he was always willing and able to help anyone in need. Following his employment with McGraw Edison, where he met his future wife, he became self-employed as a contractor. After retirement he worked for AVO Power Services. At Jake's request, all services will be private. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care.
