Jacob "Jack" James Kober, Jr.

Jacob “Jack” James Kober, Jr., age 77, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born in Sheboygan on November 28, 1948 to the late Jacob Sr. and Arlene (Reinemann) Kober. He was a 1966 graduate of Howards Grove High School. On June 10, 1967, he married the love of his life, Susan Remmel, at Fountain Park Church in Sheboygan. Together they raised two daughters, Lori and Pam.

Jack and Susan owned “The Store” in Howards Grove for many decades. Following his well-earned retirement in 1999, Jack spent many enjoyable days fishing on the inland lakes near his home in Elkhart Lake, as well as up north with family and friends, especially with his nephew and fishing buddy Jim, and his niece Anne. Jack enjoyed traveling as well, taking many trips with Susan with their 5th wheel camper. Above all, he loved spending time with his family. He was a doting grandfather to his three grandchildren. Jack will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The world could use more people like Jack.

Jack is survived by his wife Susan, and their children Lori (Pete) Badtke of Ripon, WI, and Pam (John) Reali of Fond du Lac, WI. He is further survived by his grandchildren Kasie and Sarah Badtke, and David Reali; his siblings Mary Goedeke, Judith Luecke, Karen Berg, Steven Kober, and Gary (Theresa) Kober; his brother-in-law Wayne (Debbie) Remmel, as well as many other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his brother Richard Kober, his brothers-in-law Wayne Goedeke, Lloyd Luecke, and Clifford Berg, and his sister-in-law Joan Remmel.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all the warmth and compassionate care they showed to Jack and his family in their time of need.

A funeral service will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church, W2776 State Hwy 32, in Howards Grove, with Reverend Noah Fremer officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Burial will take place at Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery immediately following service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove.
