Jacob Evan Ray Johnson, 36, passed away on Saturday, February 14th 2026. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Benny and Rebbecca Johnson as well as his birth mother, Ida Emmons; his brother, Adam Johnson; sisters, Jo Beth Johnson and Alicia Arrington.

He was born and raised in Greeneville, TN. He moved to Erwin in 2011 to be with the love of his life, Kesha (Edwards) Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a graduate of Chuckey Doak High School. He absolutely loved being outdoors, whether it was in nature or riding his motorcycle. On nice days, riding his motorcycle was his favorite thing to do. Jacob loved his family more than anything. He always had a smile on his face.

Along with Kesha, many other are left to cherish Jacob's memory including but not limited to, his brothers and sisters, Scott (Shelly) Johnson, Tammy (Mark) Brown, and Jaina Emmons; Nieces and nephews, Daniel (Summer) Johnson, Chris (Arianna) Johnson, Timothy Johnson, Brenda (Brandon) Scerba, Jessica Johnson, Gavin Bange, Bryeton Bange, Benjamin Cervantes, and Serenity Edwards; special great nieces and nephews, Victoria and Raya Johnson, Riley Johnson, and Aaron Johnson; He also leaves behind a very special friend who was like a brother to him, Mark Katinsky of Michigan, as well as several more aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and other family members; He also leaves behind his precious dog, Carly who he loved very much.

A visitation will be held for Jacob on Thursday February 19th, 2026 from 4-6 pm at Valley Funeral Home for those that would like to come pay their respects to him and the family.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the funeral home to go towards his services.

The family would like to give a big thank you to the staff of Vanderbilt Hospital as well as Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN for their loving care for Jacob.
