Jacob Lavold Obituary

To quote the Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius, "It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live." From snowboarding to running a marathon, and from turning strangers into family, Jake only knew how to live life to its fullest. He loved nature, traveling, going on hikes, running and going bowling.
Through his favorite sayings, "Don't worry about it," and "Make it make sense," he reminds others to ignore the loud waves and just enjoy the beauty of the sun setting before the day's end. His friends were family and his wife, the love of his life. His smile, humor, and love left a memorable mark on anyone who had the fortune of meeting him.
Jacob's vigorous support for struggling military service members, veterans, and their families should not go unnoticed. He ran through the Chicago marathon in 2023 for Salute, Inc and challenged others to work out to raise Suicide Awareness. Jacob was a natural giver who gave more than he took. When he noticed someone liked something, or if they needed it, he'd get it without a second thought for his close friends and family. Jacob was an easy going person and always wanted to help others. He was a sunshine in people's life with a great personality and will be deeply missed.
Jacob is survived by his beloved wife, Valeria Lavold who he married on September 26, 2024. His loving mother: Julie Ann Marie Lavold and his dear siblings: Kathleen, Eric, Brian, Brandi, and Westley.
He is preceded in death by his father: Robert Olaf Lavold.
A visitation will be held at Geils Funeral Home located at 180 South York Road in Bensenville, Illinois 60106 on Thursday, June 5, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
