Jacob Marin

Jacob Marin, 51, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026. A funeral service will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Haskell, Texas, under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Rule. A visitation is planned from 6:00 to 7:00pm, Friday, February 20, 2026, at the funeral home, 600 Robbins Ave., Rule, Texas.

Jacob was born May 28, 1974 in Dumas, Texas, to Vincent and Marie (Ortega) Marin. He was a former resident of Haskell and had recently moved to Rule to be near his parents. Jacob loved spending time with his grandkids. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the farm on the tractor.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Parker Marin; his grandfather, Jose Marin; uncle Joe Marin; and two aunts, Mary Marin and Irene Ortega.

He is survived by 2 sons, Bradley Marin and wife Shantiel and Michael Marin, both of Midland; parents, Vincent and Marie Marin of Rule; 3 grandchildren, Violet, Charlotte, and Hazel Marin; brother, Mark Marin and wife Mary Peralta of Andrews; sister, Jessica Valenzuela and husband Jesse of Abilene; 3 nieces, Sara Gonzalez, Kayla Hollingsworth, and Natalie Marin; and 3 nephews, Fabian Hollingsworth, Gabriel Marin, and Austin Marin.
