Jacob Robert Baker, 33, of Casper, Wyoming entered God’s Kingdom on June 23, 2023. He was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado April 14, 1990, to Walter and Cindy Baker.
Jake graduated from Natrona Country High School in 2008, where he excelled in track competing in triple jump. Upon graduation, Jake worked as a mechanic at Ames Automotive. From there he started in Oil & Gas where found his life’s passion to provide for his family.
To the relief of Jake’s family, he finally met the love of his life Amanda Bernard January of 2018. Everyone knew that they were destined to be with one another and those around could see the love that they shared. Jake and Amanda were married on June 5th, 2021, and decided to settle in Jake’s hometown of Casper, where they welcomed their son, Boeden, on January 17th, 2023.
His whole world was centered around the love of his life and his son. As a young couple they enjoyed the great outdoors and recreation that included golfing, hiking, kayaking, snowboarding and much more. Their love of traveling with friends offers timeless memories and laughs we can all enjoy and look back on from trips to Deadwood and UW games.
Jake’s “secret” mission was to make sure anyone around would at least crack a smile. His antics would risk a darting glare from his wife or a nasty scar just to make someone laugh. Even if it wasn’t some crazy stunt, you’d still crack a smile from his Hawaiian shirts, crazy costumes, full throttle laugh, or by his confession that he is an avid Bronco fan!
He enjoyed fishing with his dad, picking on his mom and sisters, and was a tremendous role model to his niece and nephews. As if a rite of passage at the dinner table, Jake would be sure to be the loudest with the rest of the Baker family right there with him.
Jake enjoyed every bit of life from every situation and had a heart that was unmatched in its kindness and love for those he called family. Jake will be missed dearly by all those fortunate enough to call him son, husband, dad, friend, brother, and uncle.
Jake is survived by his wife, Amanda; son, Boeden; parents Walter and Cindy; sisters Brooke (Mark Miller) and Brittney (Jesse Morgan); nephews, Talan, Colton, and Elijah; niece Makenna; and his beloved dogs Donnie and Marley.
A memorial service will take place at The M Building 234 E 1st St, Casper, WY at 3pm July 1st. On behalf of Jake, we ask that you all sport some UW Brown & Gold or Wyoming’s best attire as we celebrate his life and honor his memory.
If you would like to make a donation, there is a fund set up at Hilltop Bank for Boeden W Baker.
