Greenville businesswoman Jacqueline June Austin peacefully passed from this life Saturday afternoon, September 1st, 2007 at her residence above Greenville, CA. Born seventy years ago in Billings, Montana to the late Henry and Maria (Ostermiller) Eckhardt, at a young age she and her family moved to Richmond, CA. It is there she was raised and educated graduating from Richmond High School as a member of the "Class of 1954". Jackie as she affectionately became known went to work as a bookkeeper following her graduation and became the longtime bookkeeper of the Berkeley Ace Hardware. In the early 1960's through mutual acquaintances she met and on May 5th, 1964 married in Richmond, California Floyd Austin. In 1980 the couple moved to Greenville, CA to enjoy their retirement something that did not agree with the both of them. Jackie soon took on a job at Indian Valley District Hospital as their bookkeeper. She and Floyd purchased the Oak Grove Motor Lodge which she continued to run until the time of her death. Jackie found solace in knitting and reading paperback novels while also enjoying trying her luck at the local casino with her best friend JoAnne. Jackie leaves in passing her son Richard Keegan of Sacramento, CA, step children; Craig and his wife Cheryl Austin of El Cerrito, CA and Debra and Tom Olsen of Mt. View, CA, three precious grandchildren and one great granddaughter along with a sister Evelyn Flores of Coarsegold, CA. She joins in her eternal home her husband Floyd who passed from this life in July of 2004 along with four brothers. Private graveside interment services will take place in the Greenville District Cemetery.
