Jacqueline Barbara Blake

Jacqueline Barbara Blake (Jackie) was born on August 12, 1964 in
Cambridge, Maryland to Barbara Lavada Blake and the late Augustine
Tinsley Montgomery. Jackie transitioned on Thursday, September 19,
2024 at Complete Care Brackenville after 11 years of intensive healthcare
treatment.
During her 26 years of coping with Multiple Sclerosis, Jackie showed
compassion, faith, love, and always spoke a positive energy declaration to
others, "Don't Worry, Just Be Happy."
Jackie graduated from Concord High School in 1982. During high school,
she designed and made her own clothes that were displayed in the school
hallway showcase. Her dream was to become a fashion stylist and model
which was shown throughout her lifetime. Even at Brackenville, she was
known as "The Fashionista" resident.
Jackie worked at Jimmy Jones Hair Salon as a child. She was employed at
Cigna as an accountant for 15 years. Jackie was a good accountant and
mathematician who used her skills to help teach her children the
importance of good money management. She loved to cook, dance, shop,
and was a highly competitive spades' player.
Jackie accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and became a member of St.
Paul U.A.M.E. Church. She was faithful in attending until prohibited by
her illness. Her smile exuded the radiance of one who truly loved God,
and this was expressed by those who visited her; especially those at the
healthcare facilities.
Jackie was preceded in death by her brother Erik.
Jackie is survived by her Mother Barbara Congo; nine siblings, Audra
Lamont Blake, Deanna Rebecca Blake, Efrain Richard Blake, Kia
Hairston Roy (Wayne), Marlene, Martina, Michael, Augustine, Bootsy;
three children, Lavada Jacqueline Blake (Lala), Thomas Haile Blake (TJ),
Douglas Halston Blake (Dougie); ten grandchildren, Taylor, Matthieu, Benjamin,
Thomas, Jayla, Deion, Gabriella, Andrea, Lyndon, Mariah; and a host of nieces, nephews'
cousins and friends.
