Jacqueline Ford Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bostick-Tompkins Funeral Home - Columbia on Jan. 31, 2026.
Jacqueline Elouise Ford entered this world on December 10, 1957, in Columbia, South Carolina, the beloved and oldest of two girls born to Reverend Lester Ford Jr., and Elouise Simon Ford. She was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2026, at PRISMA Health Baptist Medical Center in Columbia, South Carolina.

Jackie, as she was affectionately called, began her early life in the Allen-Benedict Court Housing Community before her parents built their family home in the Greenview Community. She would go on to thrive academically beginning at A. J. Lewis Greenview Elementary school, to Fairwold Jr. High, culminating with her graduation from W. J. Keenan High School in 1975. During her time at Keenan, Jackie played basketball, ran track, and was a Raiderette.

Always wanting to help her family and loved ones, combined with being fiercely independent, Jackie lied about her age and got her first job at the age of fourteen at Red and White Grocery Store. On September 19, 1983, after working for companies like Mack Trucks in Winnsboro, SC and Allied Chemical in Irmo, SC, she would get hired at Westinghouse Nuclear Fuel Division in Hopkins, SC and never looked back. Jackie remained employed at Westinghouse as a Quality Control Inspector until the Lord called her home; a total of 42 years, four months, one week and three days.

In addition to her parents, Jackie was also preceded in death by her sister, Monica Ford; grandmother, Julia Mae Simon; and aunt, Louise Simon Kirven Gantt.

Jackie is lovingly survived by her son, Juan D'Ante Ford of Columbia, SC; daughter, Moenika Ford Middleton of Greenwood, SC; grandsons, Jayden Elijah Wright of Irmo, SC; and Asim D'Ante Malik Ford of Columbia, SC; granddaughter, A'mari Juanita Auset Ford of Columbia, SC; along with a host of other loving relatives and dear friends, all of who will dearly miss her.

To Juan his amazing kids, Monika and her husband. The Ford family. When I received the call from Rosalyn, Jackie's work daughter, that my sister in Christ was laid asleep, my heart was heavy. Jackie was a woman of faith and a believer in the lord. Team Westinghouse.
Jackie's resiliency personified strength. Her loyalty is unhinged and unmatched,Back in the early 2000 there were four of us, we were the WOLPACK warriors of Christ. Reverend Spry, Germye. Clara, Tia. Jackie was the BULLDOZER. The respect and love she had for others, ten toes down. Not to exclude anyone, she loved all. I will miss you my sister.God has called you home. God has opened the gates for you.
Your legacy will live forever.
Big shoes to fill.
Rev, Germye, Clara, Tia

Remembering Jackie has been a pleasure, knowing and working with her going to breaks and lunch together was so much fun and laughter. And she tried her best to live right before God and treat people right. I´m gonna miss her. She left us too soon! RIP my sister in Christ looking forward to seeing her again!

To the family I send my sincere condolences! Miss Jackie was one of the first persons I met at Westinghouse. She would affectionately call me "the lady that smells rich". RIP Ms Jackie! You will be missed! Family you will forever be kept in my thoughts and prayers.

My condolences to the family. She will be missed. Especially, how she would sing Happy Birthday to all on their birthdays. I was on the receiving end of those blessings a few times. Loved it.

Ms Jackie will definitely be missed. She was affectionately called the Bill Collector. Whenever the shift would get together for a dinner or any celebration she would be in charge of getting the funds together and if you still owed your money she would definitely be paying you a visit until she was able to scratch your name off. She made every event an experience you´d never forget with decorations and party favors. She was the absolute best!!....to know her was to love her. As I look back over our many text messages she always let me know that she loved me and appreciated me. My heart is broken but I know to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Sleep in Peace our songbird. Until we meet again I´ll hold on to our memories

Ms. Jackie was an amazing woman. She was always smiling when I saw her. She would greet me by saying, "Hey my pretty girl!" She was a joy to be around and work with. She will truly be missed. She was genuinely nice. I pray for her family during this time.
