Jacqueline Rae Griswold Green 87 of Sandwich passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025.

Jacqueline was born on March 13, 1938 to Merle and Flora Griswold in Sandwich IL. She was a loving Mother, Sister, Aunt, Grandmother and Great Grandmother that will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Jackie was the kindest, most caring person that never met a stranger. “They’re so nice” was always her mantra. She loved to talk for hours and always said “I’m going to talk myself to death”

She started her life in the old Sandwich Hospital Nursery alongside Nancy Colliflower (Hogg) who became her friend of 87 years.

Jacqueline was a self taught artist and continued to paint her entire life. She loved to travel with friends and family and as a child she would go to Minong, Wisconsin where she met her life long best friend Burdel Burval Horner. “Horseshoe Sisters.” She entered her beautiful paintings in the Sandwich Fair and won many ribbons throughout the years. Her and her dear friend Rosalie VanMeter did chalk talks for many years. Jacqueline started working at a young age as a candy striper in the old Sandwich Hospital. She also worked as a teller at the Sandwich Bank and was a real estate agent. Jackie worked at the Aurora Post Office for many years until retirement where she met many colleagues that became great friends. She was a member of The Sandwich Moose, Federated Church and served on the planning commission for the City of Sandwich for many years.

Jacqueline was married to Louis Green for 46 years until his passing in 2007. She is survived by her Sister Judy (John) Holley, loving daughter Diane (Tony) Vogt of Sandwich, her step daughter Danelie Aschenbrenner of Eichenried, Germany. . Her Granddaughters and their significant others that were her Pride and Joy, Whitney Olson (Austin Henrichs), Sydney Olson (Drew Greer.) Her cherished Grandson and his wife Franz (Antje) Aschenbrenner.

Her Grandchildren. Brennen Vogt (Carson Loftus) Payton Vogt, Cassidy Green, Jacob Green and Shauna Green. Great Grandchildren, Hunter, Blakely, and Stevie Faye Henrichs whom she adored with all her heart! Great Grandchildren Lisa and Amelie Aschenbrenner. Her niece Roberta Holley, Tim (Kathleen) Holley, Doug (Sherry) Holley, Gary (Connie) Greene, and Phil Anderson as well as several great nieces and nephews. Her cat Molly.

She was preceded in death by her husband Louis, her parents Merle and Flora Griswold, her two sons Michael and Patrick Green.

Thank you to Her “daughter’s best friends” as they visited her and brought special gifts during her stay at Pavillion. Jonica, Malea and Jackie. She loved you as her own daughters.

Thank you to everyone who called, visited, sent cards and letters. You do not go unrecognized.

Special thank you to Fresenius Kidney Care in Sandwich for giving her the best care during her past 5 years of dialysis, where she met her Beautiful Best Friend Jackie Buttels.

Also thank you to Pavillion on Main for caring for her the past 6 weeks.

In Lieu of flowers you may donate in her name to Fox Valley Older Adults or The Federated Church in Sandwich.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 3:00 - 6:00 P.M. at Beverage Family Funeral Home, 104 Terry St. Sandwich, IL 60548. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 P.M. the same day. Arrangements were entrusted to Beverage Family Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.beveragefamilyfh.com
