"Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather"
Durwood "Woody" Green, age 92 of Thomaston, passed away peacefully August 29, 2025 at Bristol Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Marlyn (Degraaff) "Peach" Green.
Woody was born November 17, 1932 in Ridgewood, New Jersey, a son of the late George and Verna (VanZile) Green. He was educated in New Jersey schools. Woody proudly served his country in the New Jersey National Guard. Prior to his retirement, Woody had worked at Brogan Cadillac in New Jersey for many years. He enjoyed roller skating, detailing cars especially restoring his 1967 Impala.
Besides his loving wife, Peach, of over 72 years of Thomaston, he leaves his daughter, Debra Copeland and Robert Schott of Middletown, his grandchildren, Ari Copeland and Liz, Julie, Lisa Morrone and her husband Don, Allison Corey and her companion Roger, Rebecca Thompson and her husband Keith, his great-grandchildren, Brielle Hammond, Emily Thompson, Alex Morrone, Lucian Morrone, Leo Morrone, Russell Morrone, Karrlee, and a host of extended family and nieces and nephews. He also leaves his stepsisters, Jane, Annette and Grace and a stepbrother Jimmy. He was predeceased by his daughter Cynthia Corey and his brother Clarence Everitt.
Arrangements: Funeral services for Woody will be held on Friday, September 5 at 12:00 noon at Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Entombment will follow at Mount Olivet Mausoleum in Watertown. Calling hours Friday morning from 11 a.m. until the service at 12 p.m.
