Jacqueline "Jackie" A. Lang, 81, of Wabeno passed away Sunday, December 1, 2024 at the Marshfield Medical Center following a brief illness.
Jackie was born January 18, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to Semon and Virginia (Perry) Benson. The 1st of 5 children, Jackie's early years were spent in Baltimore, Maryland and Paintsville, Kentucky.
In 1950 her parents bought the Benson family farm and moved to Wabeno, Wisconsin. Jackie graduated from Wabeno High School in 1960 and moved to Milwaukee. Jackie met her first husband, Donald Mayersak, in Milwaukee and they were married 20 plus years and had two children, Allen and Kenneth. Later she married Paul Lang and moved to Calabash, North Carolina where they lived for nearly 20 years.
Jackie had a great sense of humor and was a very kind and loving person. She loved her family and friends dearly. Many of her high school friends remained dear friends her entire life. In the summer she loved to have all the family come visit her at the farm in Wabeno. In the winter Jackie and her beloved dog, Ruby, looked forward to going to California for a few months. She enjoyed having lunch with her friends at the Wabeno Town Hall and wished she had started going sooner. Jackie will be missed dearly by family and friends and all who knew her.
Jackie is survived by her son Kenneth (Deb) Mayersak of Milwaukee; grandchildren Katie (Mitch Wilk) Mayersak of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Emily (Romeo Johnson) Mayersak of Houston, Texas. She is further survived by four great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Bronx, Milomir and Reyni.
Jacqueline is also survived by her siblings: Sherry (the late Bruce) Koerner of Agoura Hills, California, Gary Benson (Melinda McKeon) of Santa Rosa, California, Brent Benson (Cheryl Kattre) of Spencer, Wisconsin, and Gina (Gary) Thibert of Pickerel, Wisconsin, as well as nieces and nephews: Kelly, Trevor, Brittany, Kevin and Scott. She will especially be missed by her dog Ruby. Ruby will be moving to California to be with Jackie's sister, Sherry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved and cherished son Allen, and her husband of over 20 years, Paul Lang.
A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
