Jacqueline Ann Nehls, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great, great grandmother and friend, quietly departed this world on November 10, 2025, in Sun City, Arizona, at the age of 91. Born September 19, 1934, in West Allis, Wisconsin, Jacqueline touched countless lives with her warmth, kindness, and loving spirit.
Prior to marriage, Jacqueline worked dependably as a secretary. Once married she concentrated on raising a family. Within 15 months her first child arrived; seven subsequent children were born within the next eight years. After raising her children she worked as a switchboard operator, with both precision and strong work ethic. However, her most cherished role was that of a dedicated mother. She raised her eight children with remarkable grace, always putting their needs above her own. With a selfless heart, she navigated the challenges of motherhood without complaint, her children’s happiness forever her priority. Jacqueline's pride in her children was evident in her every action; as she always found joy in their achievements and growth, celebrating them with unmatched enthusiasm.
Jacqueline possessed a rich inner world, well-read and sharp. Her love for books, crossword puzzles (completed in ink) and Scrabble reflected her vibrant intellect and played a fundamental role in her family gatherings, as she delighted in games with her children. These pursuits not only showcased her cleverness but also reinforced the bonds of love and laughter within her family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
From the time Jackie was a little girl and well up into her 80s she belonged to choirs, even walking to practices in the snow after dinner. She truly enjoyed singing hymns and spending time with church activities. In addition, she became a girl scout leader to ensure her six girls had the chance to learn and enjoy all that the scouts provided. These activities demonstrate the dedication and selflessness within Jackie’s loving character.
With a warm demeanor and a sweet personality, Jacqueline was a source of comfort and support to her loved ones. She never hesitated to lend a helping hand or offer a listening ear; leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew her. Jackie’s love extended beyond her immediate family, wrapping around friends and acquaintances alike, who experienced her kindness firsthand.
Jacqueline is survived by her loving children, Daniel Nehls, Patrick Nehls, Ann Larsen, Rose Nehls, Carol Kahlhammer, Linda James, Donna Severson, and Mary Clark. Each of her children carries forward the legacy of love she instilled in them, ensuring that her spirit lives on through their actions and aspirations.
She was reunited in spirit with her cherished husband, Donald Nehls, who preceded her in death, and she now basks in the eternal embrace of love that knows no boundaries.
Jacqueline Ann Nehls leaves behind a profound legacy of love and resilience, woven into the fabric of her family and community. Her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
