Jacqueline Gandy "Jackie" Register

Obituary lovingly written and submitted by Jackie's family:
Jacqueline "Jackie" Register, age 93, of Jasper, FL. passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday evening May 31, 2022. She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to carry on her legacy by keeping the Lord at the center of their hearts and living their lives to the fullest.
Jackie was born July 13, 1928 in Duval County Florida, one of three children born to the late Walter Chesley Gandy and Cleo Ruth Gandy.
Jackie is preceded in death by her great granddaughter Addie Abell, her one true love of 72 years, Loyd Register, her oldest sister Alma Jewel Gandy Holton McGrath, her youngest sister Edna Earl Gandy Stewart and her half-brother Walter Chesley Jr. "Sonny".
Early in life her family moved from Duval County to Hamilton County. Jackie graduated from high school in Jasper, Fl. and headed back to Jacksonville to complete her nurses training at St. Luke's Hospital. Upon returning to Jasper, she met the love of her life, Loyd Register, of Fargo, Georgia at the American Legion Dance Hall in White Springs, Florida. The two were immediately smitten and the Register Family Legacy that they would create began with their marriage in the living room of Chesley and Cleo Gandy's home on May 7, 1947. They would spend the next 72 years together raising their family and serving the Lord.
Jackie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jasper, Fl. where she at onetime headed up the prayer chain for those in the community in need. She was known for her love of the Lord, her witty humor and sassy personality and style. The highlight of Jackie's career was working with Judge John Peach in Jasper, Fl as his secretary. Another highlight of her life was when Mr. CD Barker invited her to join him in the Jail Ministry by playing the piano and leading Bible Studies for the inmates. It was her passion in life to share her love of the Lord and witness to others through her daily actions.
Jackie is survived by her two daughters, Susan Elaine Bembry (Leonard) of Greenville, Fl, Denise Elizabeth Register of Jasper, Fl, her son Loyd Register Jr, "Buzz" (Terry) of Moultrie, Georgia, 5 grandchildren, Lori Weldon, Lenord Bembry Jr. "Kip", Jacqueline Melissa Culp "Missy", Jessica Caitlin Abell "Jessi", Travis Jackson Register and 13 great grandchildren with number 14 expected in August 2022. They all knew her as "Mema".
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Jasper, FL. with interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper.
