Jacqueline Elaine (Morse) Robinson, 85 years old, born 04 February 1940, passed away peacefully on 09 August 2025 in Gilbert, Arizona. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be remembered as a wonderful, kind-hearted friend to many, her dedication to family, love of our country, and faith in God and Jesus Christ.
Jacqueline was the oldest of two children born to Howard Theodore Morse and Dorothy Belle Blomquist in San Francisco, California. She grew up in Los Gatos, California and enjoyed sharing stories of her family and upbringing. Before her Alzheimer's and dementia diagnoses, she impressed many with her long-term memory and her ability to recall historical details especially about her genealogy which helped to connect loved ones of the past to her family and friends alike. She lived most of her life in California, raising her family in southern California before moving to
Mesa, Arizona in June 2021 to be closer to family. Around 1966, she had an impression to move from California to Hawaii to continue her career as a medical transcriptionist and histology technician. It was there she learned about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was baptized in October 1966. There in Hawaii she met Jerald Van Robinson and they were later married on 20 January 1967; they were then sealed in the Laie Temple in 1967. She was married for 55 years before her husband passed away in 2021. She will be remembered for loving her name, "Jaquie Robinson," and its connection to baseball. After the birth of her first two children in Hawaii, Jaquie and Jerry moved to Utah where they were blessed with two more children. From there they relocated to Southern California where the youngest of their five children was born in 1975. They finally settled down in Hacienda Heights, California in July 1979 and remained there until June 2021. She was the office manager of Jerry's otological medical practice for more than 40 years. Outside of work, Jacqueline enjoyed reading, knitting, making clever and cute cat-themed T-shirts, taking kids to soccer and band practice, and serving friends with delicious baked bread and was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
Jacqueline Robinson is survived by her children (their spouses) J. Scott Robinson (Karina), Jenny L. Richard (Jeremy), Jay H. Robinson (Kristen), Janet E. Grimsley (Adam), and Mindy J. Smith (Jason); along with her 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband Jerald Van Robinson, her sister Janet Rae Morse and her parents.
