Jacqueline Szalapski Obituary
As a young woman, Jackie helped her parents in the family business, Star Linoleum, located on Milwaukee Avenue. She later spent decades working at Chicago's Water Reclamation District, where she was known for her reliability, commitment, and sense of humor, and from which she retired.
Jackie was independent in spirit, deeply devoted to her Catholic faith, and had a special love for animals. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.
Jackie was preceded in death by her sister Patricia (2021) and brother-in-law Bill (2024). She is lovingly remembered by her niece and nephew, Danice and Danny; their spouses, Mike and Penny; and her grandnieces Kate and Lauren and grandnephew Ben.
Funeral Mass will be held on December 22 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment will take place at Saint Michael's Cemetery in Palatine.
