Jacquelyn Archer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Moores Funeral Home & Crematory on May 10, 2025.
Jacquelyn Garrard Archer, age 94, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025. Services will be held at the Chapel of Moore's Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 13 at 2:00pm with the Rev. Brian Hill officiating. Burial will be at Zebulon Methodist Church cemetery immediately following the service.
Mrs. Archer was born on August 22, 1930, in Devereux, GA to the late Marvin Wesley "Tobe" Garrard, Sr. and Elizabeth Bonner Garrard. She graduated from Sparta High School and attended Georgia State College for Women (now GC&SU). She worked alongside her husband as an insurance agent in Sparta, GA for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy was spending time with her four grandchildren. As a member of Zebulon United Methodist Church for over 60 years, she served countless roles in the church including sharing the role of pianist for many of those years.
Jackie enjoyed cooking, growing vegetables, and gathering pecans in the fall to share with family and friends. She knew how to make everything taste just a little (or a lot) better and everyone who knew her had a favorite dish.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Archer is preceded in death by her husband William W. Archer, Sr, as well as her step-mother, Mary Franklin Garrard, her brother, Marvin W. Garrard, Jr. and sister, Anne Garrard Whorton.
Survivors include her son, Bill Archer, a daughter, Lynda Archer Alanko, and her four grandchildren; Skye Archer, Nicole A. Medved (Nick), Will Archer, and Eric Alanko (Becca) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers are accepted but friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association.
