Jacquelyn Cotter Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Roberts Mitchell Caruso Funeral Home - Medfield on Mar. 21, 2024.
Dr Jacquelyn Michelle Cotter (Smith) passed away from cancer on March 20, 2024. She was born on October 21, 1981 and grew up in Montgomery County, PA and Succasunna, NJ. She and her husband Bryan J. Cotter have been raising their sons Mason, Bryce and Evan in Medfield, MA.
Jackie graduated from Roxbury High School (NJ), Villanova University, and UMDNJ as a medical doctor in Pediatrics. She was also talented and successful at designing, refurbishing and contracting to build beautiful homes. She loved caring for children, and was a loving mother and wife.
She loved to travel the world with her family and providing them with countless, diverse experiences. She was adventurous and was always trying new things. She was passionate about raising her boys with love, fun and opportunities to learn. She was a strong, supportive and loving big sister and daughter. She was a dancer, skier, runner, swimmer, gymnast and exceptional student growing up, and enjoyed her grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles at the jersey shore in Surf City. She accomplished and saw more in her short 42 years than most people hope to.
Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Bryan, and sons, Mason, Bryce and Evan, her parents, Gail and Randy Smith, her brothers Gary Smith and wife, Tatiana, and Kyle Smith and wife Jennifer, her Gramma, Joan Smith, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends. She was pre-deceased by her brother Eric Smith.
A celebration of Jackie's life will include a viewing at Roberts Michell Caruso Funeral Home in Medfield, MA on Thursday, March 28th from 4 to 7 PM, and a service at the United Church of Christ in Medfield on Friday, March 29th at 1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dr. Edward V. Chavez Athletic Memorial Scholarship.

Dear Bryan, Mason, Bryce and Evan and family,
I am a friend of Tom and Ginny and want to express my sincere sympathy. There is something about losing a wife and mother of your children that is permanent and inexpressible to the core of your heart. Grief and love are conjoined and you don't get one without the other. Please take comfort in the love she had for you all.

I am so shocked and saddened to learn of Jackie's passing. We were residents together at Baystate, which forged a special bond. She was always so kind, caring, compassionate and unflappable! When I think of Jackie, I think of her wonderful smile, honestly I can't even picture her without a smile on her face. She made this world a better place. Bryan, Mason, Bryce and Evan, please accept my condolences. I want you to know how special Jackie was to all of us at Baystate especially to our residency class and I will miss her dearly.
