Jacquelyn DeCoster Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Better Place Funeral & Cremation Services on Feb. 13, 2026.
Jacquelyn DeCoster was born to James and Marcele Price on July 13, 1941. Jackie was always a bright light to those around her. She was a loving wife and soulmate to her wonderful husband, Larry DeCoster who she shared a beautiful life with, for 37 years until he passed in May of 1996. They enjoyed many good times camping, hunting, fishing, and tying flies together. Her and Larry were the proud parents to three daughters Leanne, Colleen, and Susette. Jackie was a generous wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and sister.

She was always hard-working and had the ability to build any and everything from building a chicken coop to beautiful cabinet doors. She was an accomplished seamstress; sewing a variety of fancy wedding dresses for all her girls, to everyday potholders, leather work, diamond pleating, and upholstering furniture and seats in vehicles.

Jackie had many hobbies that were never limited. She was a natural and creative artist. She made beautiful oil paintings with an imaginative eye. She was resourceful and genuinely a "Jill of all Trades". She had a love for animals that she held throughout her life. From her beloved dogs, to the chickens that she loved to raise and tend to daily. Jackie was an expert gardener and canner of the produce she grew.

Jackie's kindness knew no bounds when it came to her family and friends. She was tough, independent, determined, and ornery. Many folks weren't sure how to take her brusk ways, but with a little patience they could learn amazing skills. Jackie is survived by her daughters Leanne, Colleen, and Susette, her 4 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Jackie's absence will be deeply felt and she will be dearly missed. We will hold on to forever memories of the amazing life we shared with her from family gatherings, camping, making homemade ice cream, or just sharing a sweet treat. Jackie left this earth peacefully on February 12, 2026. Jackie's unconditional love will never fade; living on forever in our hearts and in the kingdom of heaven with her maker, her husband, and her parents.
