NORTH ATTLEBORO – Jacquelyn Marie "Jackie" Hayes, 72, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 21, 2025 at home, lovingly surrounded by her children. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert A. "Bob" Hayes, who passed away on March 7, 2016.

Born in Providence, Rhode Island on July 19, 1953, Jackie was a loving daughter of the late William Crossley and Bernice (Angell) Collins, and the stepdaughter of the late Herbert H. Collins, Sr. She grew up in North Providence and was a graduate of North Providence High School.

Jackie lived a vibrant and full life. Over the course of her working career, she took on many roles and succeeded in each of them. She owned McGovern's News and Wacky Jacky's Restaurant, both formerly in Taunton. She later owned a small farm as well as her own tax accounting practice. During the holiday seasons, she enjoyed taking part-time jobs at JCPenney or Macy's-largely, as her family fondly remembers, so she could get discounts on gifts for the people she loved.

A proud veteran, Jackie served honorably in the Massachusetts Army National Guard during the early 1980s and was discharged with the rank of Specialist Fourth Class.

Deeply involved in the rodeo circuit, she adored horses and was an avid barrel racer. She also enjoyed Mezzacorona Pinot Grigio, shopping, jewelry, cooking, and painting. A gifted watercolor artist, she was a board member of the Rhode Island Watercolor Society. Jackie loved having her children and grandchildren at the house, especially for time spent together by the pool. She remained exceptionally close to her late mother, Bernice, and to her late stepfather, Herbie-speaking with her mother daily when she lived in West Virginia and caring for them both in their later years.

Jackie also had a special place in her heart for her beloved pups: Benji, Maggie, and later Bobo. Her warm smile, generous spirit, and joyful personality were constants throughout her life.

More than anything, Jackie treasured time spent in the company of her adoring family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Daniel R. Hayes and his partner Meghan Clough of Attleboro; Katie L. Hayes of North Attleboro; and Dawn McGuire and her husband Dale of Rehoboth. She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Molly, Mason, Autumn, and Joel. She was the dear sister of William C. Crossley and his wife Jane of Providence, RI; and Susan A. Young of Cumberland, RI.

Visitation, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM in the SPERRY-MCHOUL-PICHI FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro, followed by a memorial service in celebration of her life at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Jackie's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or online at stjude.org.
