PLAINVILLE – Maria Rose (Padula) Kenerson, 81, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Alliance Health at Maples in Wrentham. She was the beloved wife of Robert B. Kenerson, Jr., and the two would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary on December 23rd. Maria and Bob built a warm and loving life together in Plainville and on Prudence Island, places she cherished deeply.

Born in Framingham, Massachusetts on April 24, 1944, she was a loving daughter of the late Domenic and Lucia (Macaione) Padula. Raised in Franklin, she grew up in a large and lively family that helped shape her lifelong spirit of generosity. She was the sister of the late Domenic Padula and is survived by her siblings Anthony Padula of Franklin, Robert Padula of North Carolina, and Paula Stover of Florida.

Maria worked for many years for the Town of Plainville in both the Tax Collector's Office and the Town Clerk's Office, where she was known for her helpful nature, her kindness, and her warm smile at the counter.

A gifted craftsperson, Maria loved quilting, crocheting, knitting, ceramics, scrapbooking, needlepoint, and cross-stitch. She was always creating something beautiful for others. She also loved music-she sang beautifully, played both guitar and piano, and once proudly earned a singing trophy.

Maria adored animals of every kind, especially dogs and cats, and was delighted by deer, hummingbirds, and any creature that wandered into her path. She enjoyed babysitting, treasured time with babies, and had a remarkable ability to comfort and care for others. Beach glass hunting, word searches, and spending time in her garden on Prudence Island were among her favorite pastimes. She was known for her extraordinary generosity-she loved to bake, can, cook, and feed anyone who was hungry, always putting others first.

Most of all, Maria loved her family deeply. She leaves her daughter, Wendy-Jean Ferris and her husband Phillip of Sheldonville, and her son, Robert "Rob" Kenerson III and his wife Melissa "Mel" Edgar of Plainville. She was the cherished grandmother of Emily Marie and Matthew Christopher of Plainville; Robert and Courtney Kenerson of North Kingstown, RI; and Elizabeth Kenerson of Pawcatuck, CT. She also leaves her step-grandchildren, Aiden and Aiyana Parker, along with her great-grandchildren, Rosemary Kenerson and R.J. Kenerson. Her beloved pets throughout the years-and the many stories that came with them-brought her tremendous joy.

Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, beginning with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in the SPERRY-MCHOUL-PICHI FUNERAL HOME, 15 Grove Street, North Attleboro. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 11:00 AM. Interment will be held in Plainville Cemetery, West Bacon Street, Plainville.

Marie has been a close friend since she and Bob were marrried almost 61 years ago. Marie was also a cherished friend of my recently departed wife, MaryBeth Kimball. We have one of her quilts on display on one of our beds at Prudence Island plus a number of her ceramics given to me over the years. Marie was always a loving and caring friend and she will be missed by all who knew her. May you rest in peace with the others who have departed before you.
