It is with great sadness that in the early morning on Thursday, June 6, 2024, Danny passed away peacefully at home. Danny was lovingly cared for the last year of his of life by his beloved family and Hospice Care team of Meg and Shelby, who made it possible for Karen to keep Dan, at home where he wanted to be. The family is forever grateful to them.
Danny was the third child born to Donald and Clarmarie "Polly" Kenerson (Sullivan) in Ithaca NY on August 7, 1950.
Danny was a graduate of Trumansburg Central School in 1970, and later became a journeyman Pipefitter with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 81 in Ithaca NY. Dan worked for several local plumbing establishments, Burris Plumbing, Donahue Halverson Plumbing, Bob Apgar and retired while working at Cornell University. Danny also worked on several 9 Mile Power Plant projects.
Danny was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Ithaca Eagles Club and a life member of the Newfield Rod and Gun Club.
Dan had a funny dry sense of humor often dropping a one liner that left you shaking your head and laughing. Danny was happiest spending time on his tractor mowing the lawn, having dinner with friends, enjoying a Budweiser at the Gun Club. He especially loved spending time with his family, including his extended family the Sullivans. He and Karen enjoyed cruising to the Caribbean, with their cruise and tour to Alaska in 2022. family. Dan always looked forward to the Sullivan-Kenerson and Podufalski family reunion held every year at Frank and Patty's house.
Dan was predeceased by his parents Donald and Polly Kenerson, brother Scott Kenerson, sister-in-law Kathy Kenerson and brother-in-law Wayne Stevens. Dan is survived by his wife of almost 39 years Karen Miller Kenerson, son Peter Kenerson (Staci), sister Anne Stevens AZ, brothers Doug (Patricia) AZ, Kevin, AZ and David (Tina) NC, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends who were like family, especially the Wright family.
Friends are invited to share memories of Danny and celebrate his life Wednesday June 26, 2024 at the Newfield Gun Club from 6 to 9:00 pm. A lite dinner and a toast will be offered, Reverand Cindy Schulte will officiate. His family asks that anyone wishing to donate in Dan's memory would please do so to Ithaca Hospice and Palliative Care, 172 East King Road, Ithaca, NY.
