Jacquelyn "Jacquie" Murphy

Jacquelyn (Jacquie) Ruth Henning Murphy passed away suddenly on Jan. 22, 2026 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Jacquie was the daughter of Wayne and Eva Henning born January 18, 1945 in Latimer Iowa. Jacquie grew up with her 3 siblings in Latimer and attended CAL Community school. After graduating she married Mike Murphy on June 26, 1964. Mike and Jacquie moved to Fort Dodge in 1975 where they raised their children Michele and Brian. Mike and Jacquie were longtime active members of the Fort Dodge Evangelical Free Church. Jacquie was a homemaker and volunteered at the Fort Dodge hospital eventually taking a paid position in the dialysis department where she brightened the day of many dialysis patients. In 2009 Mike and Jacquie left many dear friends in Fort Dodge and moved to Newton to more actively participate in the lives of their 7 grandchildren. Mike and Jacquie attended many athletic events, concerts and programs of their grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mike and Jacquie hosted many overnight adventures for their grandkids at their house. Jacquie's grandchildren fondly remember waking up to the smell of coffee and cinnamon toast. Jacquie volunteered in the cancer center at Skiff Hospital and volunteered at the Newton Christian School. Jacquie enjoyed watching the wildlife in their backyard and tending her outdoor flowers. Mike and Jacquie are longtime attenders of the Cornerstone Bible Church in Newton, and dedicated followers of Jesus.

Family members left to honor Jacquie's memory are; her husband Mike, her daughter Michele (Brad) Worthington of Newton, her daughter in-law Shanda Murphy of Springdale, Arkansas, siblings; Sue (Randy) De Bour of Latimer, Sally Eicher of Cedar Rapids, and Steve (Dawn) Henning of Latimer, in addition to 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Family members that greeted Jacquie as she entered heaven include; her parents Wayne and Eva, her son Brian, and her grandson, Efrain Worthington.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday Jan. 27th at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Newton. The family will greet guests during a time of visitation prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00am. Memorial gifts can be made to Newton Christian School.
