Jaime Elyce Coon

Jaime Elyce (née Schweigert) Coon, 48, passed away on February 8, 2026, in Wayne, N.J.

Born on November 25, 1977, in Ridgewood, N.J., Jaime was the beloved daughter of Patricia (née Morse) Dyche and the late Robert Schweigert.

Jaime worked as a paraprofessional at Windsor Learning Center in Pompton Lakes, a school serving children with behavioral challenges and special needs, where she dedicated herself to helping and supporting others with patience and compassion. She was also a team member at Bogies Hoagies in Hawthorne, where her friendly personality and warm smile were known to many. Jaime generously volunteered at the Living in Freedom Group Home in Haledon, a residence serving individuals with special needs, and regularly attended special events and gatherings there, as well as with other organizations. She found great joy in being involved and staying connected within her community.

Jaime had a vibrant personality and the biggest heart. Her smile and laughter could light up any room, and she brought joy everywhere she went. She was selfless in every sense of the word and would give the clothes off her back to anyone in need. Her generosity and compassion touched countless lives. Above all, Jaime treasured her family.

Jaime was predeceased by her father, Robert Schweigert, and her stepfather, James Dyche.

Jaime is survived by her husband, Seth Coon; her beloved daughter, Mackenzie Cleary, and her fiancé, Ahmed Awad; her dear mother, Patricia (née Morse) Dyche; her stepmother, Mary (née Iannalfo) Schweigert; her brother, Joseph Schweigert and his spouse, Dominic Poon; her sister, Tracey Merlino and her spouse, Kevin; her brother, Thomas Schweigert and his wife, Nisha; and her cherished nieces and nephew, Cole Merlino and his fiancée, Rose Aveta, Madison Merlino, Kaylee Merlino, Payton Merlino, Hayley Merlino, and Devi Schweigert.

Relatives and friends will be received for a memorial gathering on Saturday February 28, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Gaita Memorial Home, 154 Newark Pompton Turnpike, Little Falls. A memorial service will take place at 3:30 p.m. Memories and condolences may be shared at gaitamh.com.
