Jake B. McKay

Jake B. McKay, New London, age 31, died Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah following a long struggle with diabetes. He was born in Appleton on May 10, 1994, the son of Wanda Nechkash and Shannon McKay. Jake graduated from Kaukauna High School. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and helping with chores on his Grandpa's farm. Jake was a jokester and teased those he loved the most. He also enjoyed dancing, singing, karaoke, and celebrating his Irish heritage in New Dublin. Jake had a tender heart and a gentle soul who loved his family and friends more than anything else.

Jake is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn; parents: Wanda Nechkash of New London and Shannon (Aimee) McKay of Sherwood; siblings: Eva Franklin (Nick Remmel) and their daugther Norah; Tucker, Madeline, and Jack O'Neill; grandparents: Jake Nechkash, Sr., Mary McKay, and Richard (Gail) McKay; aunts and uncles: Brenda (Renee Younk) Bruhn (godmother), James Nechkash, Jr., Kelly, Daniel, Molly, and Casey McKay; and close friends, Dakota and Jeremiah. He is further survived by cousins and many friends.

Jake was preceded in death by his grandparents: Darlene (Eugene) Martin and Val Nechkash.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 12, 2025, at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main Street, Little Chute) from 3:00 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. His Funeral will follow at 5:00 p.m. with the Pastor Dave VandeHey officiating. A memorial is being established.

The family would like to thank the ThedaCare ICU staff and Dr. Jolly for their exceptional care.

As an organ donor, Jake has given many others a second chance at life, a gift his family is especially proud of.
