Jakob Setter 92, of Mokena was born in Neu-Geudobra/Jugoslawien to the late Adam and Annamarie and passed away peacefully at home. Beloved husband of the late Margaretha Setter (nee Schmuttermeier). Loving father of Doris and the late Wolfgang; adoring grandfather of Jessica Krohn and Alex DeLeon (Amanda); great grandfather to Lucas and Kailyn Winkle; dear brother of Maria (Anton) Mueller; fond uncle to Tony (Karen) and Linda; great uncle to John, Julia, and Michael. Jakob and his wife Margaretha resided in Mokena for 64 years. He loved his family, their pets Heidi and Tiger. Jakob loved to travel, and was an avid golfer, tennis player, jogger and soccer player. He was a Soccer fanatic, Chicago sports team fan (except for the Cubs). Jakob was known for his dancing chops especially the polka and waltz. He worked at Chicago Bridge and Iron, Superior Match Factory and retired from Andrew Corporation in Orland Park. Visitation will be held at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd New Lenox, IL on Tuesday September 17, 2024 from 10:00am until the time of service 1:00pm. Interment to follow at St Mary Catholic Cemetery Mokena, IL.
