James "Jimmy" Michael Adams, of Southampton New Jersey, formally of Bensalem Pennsylvania, passed peacefully surrounded by his family on March 10th, 2025 at the age of 81.
His life was not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather he skid in broadside loudly proclaiming "WOOHOO what a ride!"
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, pop, great-grandfather, father in law, friend, neighbor, and loved by all who knew him. Although this is a hard time, Jimmy always said "If I go tomorrow, I wouldn't have missed a thing".
Jimmy was born on April 6th, 1943, and raised in Bristol, but "stop me if you've heard this story before". He met his loving wife, Mickey, at the age of 17, and that is truly where their grand adventure began. They raised 3 loving daughters, Diane, Stacy, and Jennifer in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, where they lived for 35 years. Once the girls were grown, the question of "Now What?", came to light. The house was sold, the RV was bought, and across the United States they went. All 50 states were blessed by the presence of Jimmy and Mickey, and "if it ain't true it ought to be".
After traveling, they decided to plant a new set of roots, in the small town of Fortescue, New Jersey, a quaint drinking village with a fishing problem. A lot of stories and laughs were shared "down under" and around the cowboy table. 4th of July, was one of Jimmy's favorite holidays, not only because the 3rd of July was his wedding anniversary, but because his entire family, from daughters to son-in-laws, to grandchildren, came down to decorate the golf carts in the hopes of winning "Best Decorated" in the parade. After spending 15 years in Fortescue, they moved to Southampton, New Jersey, where they were able to spend more time with their family.
Jimmy was not only a long time truck driver, but he was also an entrepreneur. His most creative ideas included a landscaping business "Jim's Property Maintenance", JC Towing, alongside one of best friends, and ran a successful junk yard. Although he retired early, he never stopped working. He spent his time scrapping, and working odd-jobs, never being able to sit still. He enjoyed welding and making "hobo art", always gifting them to his family or selling them in yard sales. You could always find Jimmy in the garage, playing with power tools, both literally and figuratively. Jimmy's favorite pastimes included fishing, telling jokes, and reciting stories, but never the same story twice.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Marian "Mickey" Adams (nee Thomas), daughters, Diane Kelch, Stacy Adams-Dotts (husband Michael Dotts), and Jennifer Greenewald (husband John Greenewald), along with his many grandchildren, Ryan Kelch (wife Jessica Kelch), Tyler Kelch, Kelly Greenewald (fiance Kyle Bowman), Matthew Greenewald, and great-grandchild Adelynn Kelch.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Ike Adams, mother, Cass Adams (nee Donahue), brothers, Billy Adams and Jerry Adams, sister Maggie Callan (nee Adams) and grandsons Kevin Day, and Michael Day.
A Celebration of Life Open House will be held on April 6th, 2025 at Jimmy's house, 212 Huntington Drive Southampton NJ 08088, from 12pm - 6pm. All who knew and loved Jimmy are invited. Memorial contributions can be made in "loving memory of Jimmy Adams" to your favorite charity.
Arrangements under the direction of the Bradley & Stow Funeral Home 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Road, Medford, NJ 08055.

The memories of hanging out at your place in Fortescue on Friday nights will be something I will treasure always. I still think about those times often and miss them. Rest in peace and don´t cause too much havoc up there. Love, Kathy & Louie
