James Leland Adams, 92, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at home with his wife, Jane (nee Clements) by his side. Jim was born in Eureka, IL to the late Edgar and Mary (Shoen) Adams. He was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene Hoerbert.

He is survived by daughter, Kelly Adams (Donald Beyer) of Elizabethtown, NC; grandson, Austin Adams of Elizabethtown, NC; granddaughter, Taylor Slocum of Fayetteville, NC; son, James Adams, Jr. (Chelli) of Pharr, TX; daughters, Jamie Hennen (Roger), Sandra Adams of Halstead, MN, and Tracey Lorenz of Fargo, ND; sisters, Ann Lindsay (Reggie), Kathy Todd (Jim), and Nora Rayburn; and 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Jim retired from the Air Force and Civil Service, ending his career as Director of Morale, Welfare, and Recreation at McGuire AFB, NJ. He spent his retirement enjoying his favorite pastime, golf, and spending his time with family and friends.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Pruitt Health Hospice Care, (Kelly, Brandi, Chelsea, Jordon and so many others) for their compassion, care, and kindness throughout Jim's journey.

As per his wishes, a private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
