James Charles Adams of China Grove passed away on August 30, 2025, at the age of 95.

He was born on June 29, 1930, in Baltimore to the late Mary Waechter and James Adams.

James was an athlete. He was a boxer when he was young, baseball player, played soccer until he was 50, and was an avid golfer until he was 90. He was a huge fan of the Baltimore Orioles and was a Ravens fan.

In addition to his parents and all of his siblings, he is preceded in death by his daughter Mary Ann Ellison; son James Russell Adams; and grandson Michael Lee Fink Jr.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda Adams (married on April 14, 1985); daughters Lynn Young of Baltimore, MD, Barbara Heim of China Grove, and Stephanie Potenciano of CA; grandchildren Jillian Lefort of Longdon, England, Derek Fink of Baltimore, MD, and Adam Heim of Raleigh; as well as 6 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday September 13, 2025, at First Baptist Church of China Grove, 302 Patterson Street, China Grove, NC 28023. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 10:50 am with the service to follow at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Missions Team of First Baptist Church of China Grove.
