James Allen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walter J. Kent Funeral Home - Elmira on Dec. 4, 2025.
Age 68, of Lawrenceville, PA was born June 11, 1957, in Troy, PA., Jim went home to be with his Lord on Monday, December 1, 2025 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He is the youngest child of the late Delton Louis and Mary Pauline (Baker) Allen, His son; Vincent James Allen, brother, David Allen and other relatives preceded him in death.

Survivors left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 30 years, Michelle (Savino) Allen; nephew, Claude West, with whom Jim greatly influenced and raised him as his son; brother, Thomas Michael Allen with his sons, Jeff and Joshua; sister, Kathleen (Michael Sean) Joyce with her children, Darcy and Thomas; former wife, Wendy Allen and Mike Applebee, dear friend of Jim; along with many other relatives and friends. When Jim lived in North Carolina he worked for the movie studio in Wilmington as the lead grip. He worked on the Matlock show and The Birds II, as well as other recognized shows/movies. He & Michelle were Foster Parents for approximately 18 months and had two beautiful little sisters; Elizabeth and Tabitha in their care.

For 30 + years, Jim was a self-employed electrician and owned and operated Electric Service Company. He was also a local contractor, building and renovating many homes in this area. He loved using the brush hog on his land, cutting trees and stacking wood. He was well known for the huge bonfires he built. He proudly cared for his land. He greatly enjoyed gardening, especially with Michelle. There wasn't anything Jim couldn't do. He was a hard worker and if he did not know how to do it, he would figure it out. Jim was a very brilliant man and would do anything for anybody. He was a very strong and courageous man who fought the good fight of Faith until his departure.

Michelle wishes to express her sincere gratitude and appreciation for Jim's friends who have been there to help any way they could throughout this long difficult time. Steve Turner, Mark Troy, Kevin Kipferl and Steve Shaner, I am forever indebted to you for your love, generosity and care.
