James Anders Obituary

James W. Anders, 84, of Mt. Airy, MD passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family.

The beloved husband of Wardella Anders (nee Smith) for 65 years.

Born May 15, 1941, in Freeze, VA the son of the late Joshua Anders and Callie Frances Anders (nee Sexton).

He was a member of Mt. Airy Isacc Walton Classic Car Club and the Heart of Maryland Tractor Pullers. James enjoyed working on his 57 Chevy, hunting in West Virginia, watching NASCAR and Old Westerns (Gunsmoke).

Surviving in addition to his wife is his son Todd Anders & wife Tammy; grandchildren TJ Anders, Kimberly Reyna & husband Luis; great-grandchildren Levi & Mavis Reyna. Also survived by his siblings Roscoe Anders and Gracie Eaton.

He was preceded in death by his siblings Julia Sexton and Dave Anders.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 4-6 PM at which time the funeral service will begin at 6 PM at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1212 West Old Liberty Road Sykesville, MD 21784 (beside South Carroll High School).

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to BridgingLife Hospice 292 Stoner Ave Westminster, MD 21157.
