James M. Anderson, 77, of Lancaster, passed away at St. Anne’s Retirement Community on Thursday, March 5, 2026.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Milton and Helen McGeehan Anderson.
Jim graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School, Class of 1967, and then worked as a truck driver for Armstrong World Industries at the Liberty Street plant for over 30 years. He was also on their Hazmat Team.
Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In his younger days, Jim was a volunteer firefighter with Eden Fire Company No. 1, and a lifetime member of Commercial Traveler’s Association and Pequea Valley Sportsman Association. Jim enjoyed NASCAR, Penn State Football, and hunting at his camp in Huntington County.
Jim’s family includes his son, Jason J. Anderson, husband of Brooke of Lancaster, his daughter Julie L. Anderson of Lancaster; four grandchildren, Jason Anderson Jr., Alexandra Anderson, Jayla Hector and Jenna Hector; nine siblings, David Anderson, husband of the late Margaret, Carol Lichty, wife of Richard, Virginia Mitchell, wife of Luke, Jean Becker, Joan Schwebel, wife of Donald, Christine Spiese, wife of the late Terry, Ellen Collister, wife of Craig, Elaine Kump, wife of John, and Glenn Anderson; and Jim’s former wives, Donna Anderson and Linda Anderson.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his son, Michael James Anderson in 1973.
Jason’s family will receive guests from 9 to 10 am, followed by a celebration of his life at 10 am with Pastor Keith Sensenig officiating, on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543.
