James "David" Anthis, 70, of Vincennes, IN passed away April 30, 2025. He was born in Decker, IN on April 10. 1955, to the late James A. and Pauline E. (Doades) Anthis. He worked for many years as a farmer before switching paths to become a welder. He worked for many years as a welder. David served his country in the National Guard. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with family, fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, watching the history channel, karoke, going out with his late wife Phyllis and country cruising with his friend Carl. He will be deeply missed.
David is preceded in death by his parents James and Pauline Anthis; wife Phyllis Anthis; granddaughter Maddie Jaquet; niece Christina Lucas; siblings Kenneth Anthis, Janie Wood, Rachel Anthis, and Randall Anthis.
He is survived by his children Jessica (Billy) Kohlhouse and DJ (Brittany) Anthis; step-children Kevin Hueby, Misty Trowbridge, Dennis Trowbridge; 14 grandchildren; siblings Rose Shore, Rebecca (Catalino) Eufracio, Ronnie (Cheryl) Anthis, Marvin (Martha) Anthis; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of David. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
