James Vincent Ardizzoni, age 74, of Medford passed away on Sunday, September 28th at Melrose/Wakefield Hospital. Raised in Somerville, he was the son of the late Henry and Ruth F. (Bishop) Ardizzoni. James was employed as a security officer at Bentley University, and lived in Medford for the past 44 years. James loved being on the golf course, soaking up the sun at the beach and manning his grill. He enjoyed a good game of cribbage, a good book, some good tunes and a cold beer. Most of all, Jimmy loved nothing more than being surrounded by his family and his endless group of friends, old and new.

James was the beloved husband of Judy DeStefano, his childhood sweetheart. He was the devoted father of Jamie Sheehan and her husband Tom, and Nicholas Ardizzoni and his fiancée Kayla Mathews. He was the loving papa of Grayson and Sydney, and the dear brother of Carol Ardizzoni, and the late Patricia Silva and Joan Colarullo. James was the brother-in-law of Linda Atherton and her husband Tom, Paula DeStefano, DeeDee Martell and her late husband Donald, Joanne Parziale and her late husband Richard, Karen Atherton and her husband Mark, and the late Ralph DeStefano. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and his grand-dog Boone.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 6th from 4 to 8 pm in the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, and again on Tuesday, October 7th at 10 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Jamesâ?? name to The Tunnel To Towers Foundation online at www.t2t.org, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital online at www.stjude.org

Jimmy I am so sad. I will miss not seeing you at Sagamore GC. Your welcoming "Hi how are you?", smile, kindness and joyous manner will always be remembered - not to mention your grilling expertise. Best dogs, burgers and those fabulous sausages! No one could do it better. Thank you Jimmy! RIP. Always, Mary Ann
