James Howard Artwell III, 61, of Wadsworth, Ohio, passed away on September 13, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.
Born on October 23, 1963, in Parma, Ohio, James was a dedicated family man, a hardworking provider, and a selfless presence in the lives of everyone who knew him. He graduated from high school and attended college, and later went on to become a successful loan officer and business owner. But his greatest pride and purpose were always found in his family.
James is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Trish (43); his children: Brittany (27), Courtney (26), Luther (24), Cody (23), Kala (21), Sebastian (19), Anthony (19), and John (17); and his beloved grandchildren: Raelynn (6), Olivia (5), Jayden (4), River (2), and Renesmae (1). He is also survived by his mother, Patricia (84).
James will be remembered most for his unwavering devotion to his family. He never did anything for himself-every choice, every effort, every sacrifice was made with the well-being of his loved ones in mind. He truly lived a life of service to others, always ready to lend a hand or offer support without hesitation.
He found joy in the simple things: watching NFL Sundays with his sons, cooking special meals for his family, and giving back to his community in meaningful ways. One of his proudest contributions was providing meals for athletes from all sports teams at Cloverleaf High School-a gesture that showed just how much he cared for the youth in his community. He was also a generous and familiar face under the Friday night lights, where he rarely missed a football game.
His legacy is one of kindness, strength, and generosity. James Howard Artwell III was a man who loved fiercely, gave freely, and lived with purpose. He leaves behind a family who will miss him deeply and carry his spirit forward in all they do.
A celebration of James's life will be announced by the family at a later date.
