KENDALLVILLE - James B. Ashenfelter, age 68, of Kendallville, Indiana, went to be with his Lord and Savior with his family by his side, on Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2025, at Kendallville Manor.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1956, in Garrett, Indiana, to Howard and Barbara (Laign) Ashenfelter.
He was a graduate of Garrett High School.
Jimmy married Tina L. Moffett on April 19, 1986, in Auburn, and she resides in Kendallville.
He worked for Tenneco Automotive in Ligonier for many years.
Jimmy was a member of Waterloo Freewill Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and enjoyed playing bass with the Glory Land Express group at churches and nursing homes.
He enjoyed photography and he was an avid IU Basketball fan.
Jimmy was a devoted husband and father and he was instrumental in taking care of and raising his family. His children were very important to him!
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Tina Ashenfelter, of Kendallville; son, Brian Ashenfelter, of Fort Wayne; daughter, Carolyn Ashenfelter, of Fort Wayne; daughter and son-in-law, Joey and Salvador Espinoza Jr., of Kendallville; two grandchildren, Salvador "Chachi" Espinoza Jr. and Micky James Espinoza; sister and brother-in-law, David and Linda Snodderly, of Auburn; brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Debbie Ashenfelter, of Auburn and Doug and Margaret Ashenfelter, of Garrett; many loving nieces and nephews; and other extended family members.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Lori Molin.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at 11 a.m., at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St., in Auburn, with Pastor Salvador Espinoza Jr., and Pastor Ron Stambaugh.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, from 4-7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., on Thursday, at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Christian Union Cemetery in Garrett.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Jimmy to Waterloo Freewill Baptist Church
