James David Auburg ObituaryJames "Jim" David Auburg was born on June 24, 1933, in Turkey, Texas to Ora Mae Auburg and David Rufus Auburg and entered eternal life on April 30, 2025, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
James, along with his parents and sister, Thalia, moved to Alburquerque, New Mexico when he was 4 years old. He began attending Southwestern Bible Institute in 1951, while also serving as a youth minister for Assemblies of God in Roswell, New Mexico. In 1952 he moved to Fort Worth, Texas where he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1973 as a Technical Sergeant, E6.
During his time in the military, he assisted in the relocation of the Air Force Academy to Colorado Springs. He was also stationed at the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Here, Jim helped install the very first computer at NORAD. He helped to program and maintained the nation's first missile warning system.
Jim was an avid dance instructor, which is ultimately what led to him meeting the love of his life, Patricia Diane, whom he would marry on February 14, 1981.
Jim is survived by his wife, Patricia Diane, along with children and multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
